#7: Finding your Voice: Surviving Cancer with Public Speaking Expert, Alexia Vernon

Alexia Vernon is sharing the process of finding her voice after a cancer diagnosis. Dubbed a “Moxie Maven” by the White House Office of Public Engagement, Alexia is a Miss Junior America winner and a public speaking expert that has been showcased on national media outlets from NBC to Forbes. Which is why, in 2020, the last thing Alexia expected was to be diagnosed with thyroid cancer.

Tune in this week to hear how she found her voice again while fighting her personal journey with cancer, and during surgery, when her mother was diagnosed. Several months later, her father’s leukemia came back. This is a story of overcoming adversity, fighting for your choice of health care, and learning to speak up…even if your voice shakes!
